Seth A. Highbaugh, 24, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Millheim, unexpectedly passed from this life on Wednesday, June 2, 2010, in Pittsburgh.
Seth, son of Wayne and Kathy S. Miller Highbaugh, was born on June 10, 1985, in Lock Haven. Seth was a 2003 graduate of Penns Valley Area High School and Centre County Vo-Tech in environmental sciences. Seth went on to attend Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, graduating in 2006 with degrees in Civil Engineering and Survey Technology.
In addition to his parents, Seth is survived by one sister, Jessica A. Highbaugh, of Millheim; maternal grandmother, Shirley Miller-Young (Mike), of Loganton and paternal grandmother, Williadean Highbaugh, of Brownsville, Ky. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Seth was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Vincent T. Miller and his paternal grandfather, Emit Highbaugh.
Seth was a member of the Millheim Fire Co. and Fireman's Club and the Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors. Seth was employed by KLH Engineers, Inc. in Pittsburgh. He loved his job and living in Pittsburgh. He was a free spirit, always wanting to try new things. He was not afraid to learn new ways of doing something. He enjoyed watching Cincinnati Reds baseball, Washington Redskins football and Pittsburgh Penguin hockey. In his spare time Seth enjoyed playing guitar, fishing and reading.
His passing leaves a void in the hearts of his loving family and those who knew him well. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, June 6, 2010. from 12-4 p.m. at St. Luke's United Methodist Church on Penn Street in Millheim. A Celebration of Life service will follow immediately at 4 p.m. with Pastor Cass Harbach officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Tylersville and will be held at a later date.
