Stephen A. ‘Chick’ Riglin, 82, of Bellefonte, passed away, at home, July 31, 2013. A son of the late Joseph P. and Anna (Ivock) Riglin, he was born September 7, 1930, in Bellefonte. He was married to the former Theresa Stanek, for 59 years, who survives at home.

He was a 1950 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. He retired from the former Sutton Engineering as a foreman and a machinist. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, BPOE #1094, American Legion Post #33, and the Bellefonte Moose Club.

Chick served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. For his service he received the National Defense Service Medal.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing, woodworking and stained glass. He loved picking morel mushrooms and making homemade horseradish for his friends and loved ones.

Along with his wife he is survived by five children, Vincent A. Riglin, and his wife Mary, of Baton Rouge, LA, Frank J. Riglin, of Bellefonte, Barbara A. Rockey, of Bellefonte, Thomas J. Riglin, and his wife Mary Katherine, of Penns Grove, NJ, and Wendy L. Miehle, and her husband Konrad of Mesa, AZ. Also surviving are two brothers; Robert Riglin, of Torrence, CA, James Riglin, of Bellefonte; seven grandchildren; Jason, Megan, Adam, Brooke, Patricia, Danielle, Mindy and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Chick was preceded in death by two sisters; Josephine Ebeling, Mildred Long, and two brothers; Lt. Thomas J. Riglin and Joseph P. Riglin.

A public visitation will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2013, from 6-8 PM, at Wetzler Funeral, Service, Inc, 206 N. Spring St., Bellefonte, PA, with a Vigil for the Deceased at 7:45 PM with Father George Jakopac. Funeral Mass will be Monday, August 5, 2013, at 9:30 AM, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 134 E. Bishop St, Bellefonte PA, with Father Jakopac officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Bellefonte.
