Sgt. William John Lindsey, 60 of Mingoville, U.S. Army retired passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at his home. He was born on November 22, 1949, in Ridley Park, Pa., a son of the late William John James and Margaret Hartz Lindsey. On January 9, 1971 he married Gail P. Richers, who survives at home.
He attended Ridley Twp., High School. He was a technician with RCH Cable of Philadelphia. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, serving two tours of duty in Vietnam as well as reserve duty. He was a lifetime member of the Holmes Fire Company..
He enjoyed bird watching, photography, gardening and hunting.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son; Adam Joseph, at home, one sister; Ruth Haney, of Delaware County, one half brother; Joseph Lindsey of Delaware County, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, his in-laws and many friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 3, 2010 from 12 noon till 2:00 p.m. at the Nittany Valley Alliance Church, Rt. 64, Nittany Valley Rd., Mingoville,. Services will be immediately following the visitation at the church with the Rev, David Gouak officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery, Walker Twp. with Military Honors.
