William “Larry” Gerding, 67, of Pleasant Gap, PA, passed away at home with family by his side on Monday, April 9, 2018. Born in Lexington, KY, on July 4, 1950, he was the son of Robert, who survives in Lehigh Acres, FL, and the late Dixie Gerding. He married his beloved wife, Ruth Gerding, who survives him at home.

Larry was a graduate of Freedom High School in Bethlehem, Pa and later graduated from Williamsport Area Community College with a degree in Horticulture. Larry was a veteran that served in the United States Navy. He worked as a crane operator for Bethlehem Steel until retirement. Additionally, he worked in landscaping.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two step-children, Tabatha Bennett (Steve) of Zion and Scott Jodon (Lindsay) of Pittsburgh, four grandchildren, Kyle (Kerston) Bennett, Whitney (Colby) Peters, Jacob Jodon, and Norah Jodon, and one great-grandchild, Mason Bennett. Also surviving is one brother, Wayne Gerding (Penny) of Waddy, KY, and two sisters, Diane Shelor (Damon) of Lehigh Acres, FL, Darlene Nemeth (Dave) of Nazareth; nieces and nephews, Heather Gerding, Lisa Hadley (Scott), Kelly Shelor, Melissa and Brian Nemeth.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 867 and the Moose Lodge 206 in Bellefonte.

Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He also helped in the kitchen at the Moose.

Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
