Yvonne E. Poorman, 76, of Milesburg, passed away Friday, February 8, 2013, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born on May 1, 1936, in Benner Township, she was the daughter of the late Clair and Pearl (Corman) Breon. On November 22, 1968, she married Robert Poorman, who survives at home.
She was a 1954 graduate of the Bellefonte Area High School.
Yvonne worked as a title clerk for Barnett and Dunlap Ford. She was an avid Penn State fan in all sports, especially football, where she held season tickets for 45 years. Yvonne was a member of Valley View United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three sisters; Mary E. Byers of Bellefonte, Darlene McVicker of Pine Grove Mills, Bonnie Cain of Valley View, one brother, Rick Breon of Valley View, and two sisters-in-laws; Donna Heringa of Lake Placid, Florida and Janet Breon of Milesburg. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. She deeply loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with them at Grange Fair.
In addition to parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Whiteman on July 7, 1962, and her son, Scott Whiteman, one sister, Joann Miller, and two brothers; Loren Breon and Donald Breon.
There will be a public visitation held on Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte, from 1:00 pm until 2:00pm, with funeral services to immediately follow with Reverend Calvin Miller officiating.
Burial will follow at Centre County Memorial Park, College Township.
