Zelpha Lillian Nevel Stinson, 83, of Centre Hall and Salem Hill Haven, died Thursday, April 8, 2010, at Mt. Nittany Medical Center at State College.

She was born March 19, 1927 in Milroy, a daughter of the late Jesse and Hazel Shank Kearns.

On January 29, 1947, she married Mahlon Nevel Sr. who preceded her in death on July 31, 1985. She married Robert H. Stinson on March 13, 1993, who preceded her in death on January 22, 2010.

Zelpha attended Armagh Township schools.

Mrs. Stinson was a member of Calvary Bible Church at Centre Hall and was an avid reader.

She is survived by three sons, Mahlon Nevel and his wife Beverly of Renovo, Sanford Nevel and his wife Mary Ellen of Centre Hall, and William Nevel and his wife Susan of Morrisdale; six grandchildren, William Nevel of Port Matilda, Scott Nevel of Osceola Mills and James Nevel of Philipsburg, Jennifer Gore of Spring Mills, Jill Albright of Clarence, and Michelle Dildine of Conway, SC; fifteen great grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, Gerald Bobbert of Clearfield, Sheldon Bobbert of Altoona and Sarah Evilsizer of Hyde; three sisters Ruthie Schrieber of Harrisburg, Phyllis Norton of North Carolina, and Virginia McLaughlin of Lewistown.

In addition to her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by a son Gahlon, four sisters and two brothers.

Friends will be received from 9 – 11 a. m. Monday, April 12, 2010, at Calvary Bible Church, 600 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA. The funeral will be at 11:00 a. m. at the church with Pastor Richard Gilbaugh officiating. A graveside service and burial will be held at 2:00 p. m. at Boalsburg Cemetery in Boalsburg.
