Paul Samuel Engle, 85, of Lock Haven, PA passed away on January 19th unexpectedly of a heart attack at Fulmer’s Personal Care Home, Lock Haven.
Paul was born on July 16, 1938 to Abraham and Elnora (Reiter) Engle in Colburn, PA.
In his younger years, he worked in construction assisted in building the Lock Haven University and later retired from PennDOT after 27 years. He was a former social member of the American Legion. He enjoyed watching the history and discovery channel, cowboy movies and playing cards with friends and family. He loved working on cars and going to junkyards where he was known as “Pumpkin” due to him wearing orange sweatshirts. One of his favorite things to do was spending time with his granddaughter and going to her softball games. His favorite drink was coffee and it had to be McDonalds or Dunkin Donuts.
Two daughters survive him: Joann Bomboy, Castanea, PA and Cheryl Engle, Huger, SC. And, one granddaughter: Rachel Engle, aka ”Little Darling.” Also, numerous nieces and nephews survive him.
Preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Joy Engle, 1986. He was also preceded in death by four brothers: Dave, William, Randall “Tim” and George “Gabby” and four sisters: Geraldine Saulder, Helen Bryan, Barbara Engle and Ada Mabel Sample. Survived by one sister: Lois Engle.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 27th, 2024,at 5:00 PM in the Gedon Funeral Homes & Cremation Services LLC,(formerly Wetzler Funeral Home) 320 Main St. Mill Hall PA. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home one hour prior to the services.
