Pauline R. Cox, 81, of Pleasant Gap, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Centre Care in Bellefonte. Born on May 9, 1944, in Snow Shoe, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Rhoda (Tressler) Rees. She married her beloved husband, Ronald L. Cox, who survives at home after sharing 51 years of marriage together.
Pauline devoted her life to taking care of her home and raising her family.
In addition to her husband, Ronald, she is survived by her nieces, whom she helped to raise, Amber Simpkins (Michael) and Ashley Emel. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Ida Meter, Margaret Decker, Charlie Viehdorfer, Sara Rees, and Marjorie Decker; she was the last of her generation.
Pauline’s greatest joy was taking care of her family – whether she was cooking a delicious meal or just sharing a story, she treasured the time that she spent with her family. She was a hard worker and enjoyed getting some time to go bowling.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from 10am until 11am at Zion Lutheran Church, 105 Old Boalsburg Road, Boalsburg. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00am with Rev. Elisa Osman officiating.
Burial will follow at Pine Hall Cemetery in State College.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Pauline to the Pleasant Gap Fire Company, 475 Robinson Lane, Pleasant Gap, PA 16823.
