Raymond J. Trexler, 77, of Bellefonte, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. Born March 4, 1947, in Altoona, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Marie J. (Yeager) Trexler. On April 22, 1966, he married his beloved wife, Evelyn (Stich) Trexler, who survives him at home after sharing 58 years of marriage together.

Raymond was a 1965 graduate of Altoona High School. After school he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War from March 1966 until he was honorably discharged in January 1970 as Staff Sgt. Upon returning home, he began his career as a lineman for Bell Telephone before becoming a Splicer and Construction Foreman Supervisor for Verizon. He retired as a Draftsman for Verizon after more than 25 years of service.

In addition to his wife, Evelyn, he is survived by their children, Raymond J. Trexler, II (Lori Dietrich) of Bellefonte, and Paula Trexler Gunsallus (William Wesley, Jr.) of MacElhattan, and three grandchildren, Rianna, Pamela, and Aaron. Also surviving is a sister, Joanne M. Strate of Altoona, sister-in-law, Pattie (Musto) Trexler, brothers-in-law, John Stich and Gary Stich, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, David and Gordon.

Raymond was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Bellefonte. Additionally, he was a member of the VFW in Pleasant Gap. He enjoyed going fishing and watching sports, especially softball. More than anything, he loved to watch his children and grandchildren in their activities throughout the years. They could always count on him to be their biggest supporter!
