Rebecca Sahaj Taranto, 81, of State College, died Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
Born December 8, 1940, in Johnstown, she was the daughter of the late August and Mary Ellen McCullough Sahaj.
She is survived by one son, Michael Taranto and his wife, Robin; two sisters, Mary Ellen Levitz and her husband, Gary, of Egg Harbor, NJ and Barbara Charco and her husband, Richard, of Staten Island, NY. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Margaret.
Rebecca was a 1958 graduate of Penns Manor High School. She graduated from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1960 with a Nursing degree.
She retired in 2006 from the Ritenour Health Center at Penn State University where she was employed as a Registered Nurse for 41 years.
Rebecca was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. She enjoyed painting, cooking, traveling, especially on cruise ships and adored her dogs. She very much enjoyed going to the State College Senior Center.
Services will be private.
