Richard M. Malinoski, 87, of Bellefonte, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. Born on September 29, 1936, in Dickson City, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Joseph L. and Lillian (Plauska) Malinoski. On December 26, 1955, he married the love of his life, Dianne E. (Edwards) Malinoski, who preceded him in death on May 20, 2024, after sharing 68 years of marriage together.
Richard was a graduate of Lake Ariel Consolidated High School. After school, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from September 1954 until he was honorably discharged in August 1958. Upon returning home, he graduated from Penn State University in 1962 with his bachelor’s degree. He worked for HRB Singer before taking a position with Lockheed Martin until his retirement in 1999.
He is survived by his three children, Mark Malinoski (Amy), Sandi Oberle (Mike), and Keri Malinoski-Morris (Terry), four grandchildren, Megan Shirey (David), Ryan Malinoski (Bridget), Christian Oberle, and Alex Malinoski, and three great grandchildren, Rider, Gemma, and Caio. Also surviving is a brother-in-law, Darrell Edwards.
In addition to his wife, Dianne, and parents, he was predeceased by a granddaughter, Kali Malinoski, a brother, Leonard Malinoski, a sister-in-law, Shirley, and brothers-in-law, Wayne, David, and Neil.
After retirement, Richard volunteered at the Office of Aging with the APPRISE Program. Later in life, he and Dianne enjoyed being “Snowbirds” and going to Florida for the winters. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family. His grandchildren and great grandchildren truly meant the most to him.
Funeral and burial services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
