Robert “Bink” Charles Cox, 73, of Bellefonte, passed away at home on Thursday, July 16, 2026. Born on May 17, 1953, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Robert LaRue and Jane Elizabeth (Klinger) Cox. He was married to Deborah Cox, who preceded him in death in 1997. In 2000, he was then married to Denise (Hallock) Cox, who survives at home.
Bink began his career as a garbage man for Kline. He later took a position at Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority, where he remained for 33 years until his retirement in 2022.
In addition to his wife, Denise, he is survived by his children, Destiny Rose Cox of Bellefonte, and Deziray Elizabeth Cox (C.J.) of Lewistown, and grandchildren, Dylan Mattais, Dorian Matthew, and Ryker Emanuel. Also surviving are his sisters, Margie Worrick (Thomas) of Zion, Deloris Waltz (Thomas) of Bellefonte, Robin Burns (Ed) of Milesburg, a brother, Todd Cox (Jen) of Centre Hall, and a sister-in-law, Georgia Cox.
Along with his parents and his first wife, Deborah, he was predeceased by his siblings, Wanda Eby, Kathrine Billett, Harry Billett, Ricky LaRue Cox; paternal grandparents, Gladys Fry, Robert Roy Cox, and maternal grandparents, Margie Smith and John Klinger.
Bink was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd. He loved anything with an engine! In his earlier years he enjoyed drag racing. He loved watching any type of racing, truck and tractor pulls and looked forward to going to the Bellefonte Cruise every year. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His grandkids were truly the light of his life!
A public viewing will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 PM, at the funeral home with Pastor John Snare officiating. Burial services will immediately follow at Meyer Cemetery.
