Robert J. “Bob” Keeler

Robert “Bob” Keeler, 92, of Bellefonte passed away peacefully at Juniper Village at Brookline, State College. He is the son of the late Harry and Verrnetta Stine Keeler of Bellefonte. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. While serving in Germany, Bob met his future wife, Rosemarie Bachem. They were married in 1952. Rose preceded Bob in death in 1992. Some years later, he met his long-term companion, Margaret Grove of Bellefonte, who preceded him in death in 2017.

Bob worked for The Bell Telephone Company of Pennsylvania for 30 years. After retirement, he worked part time for Penn State Telecommunications, helping out at home Penn State football games. Bob was a huge fan, and his phone work allowed him to watch the games for free. He enjoyed reading and using his computer. He loved the outdoors and was biking and walking until his late 80’s.  

He is survived by one son, Michael (Debbie) and one daughter Charlotte Lanich (Steve) and three grandchildren and one step-grandson. Also surviving is one sister, Helen Shawley, as well as many nephews and nieces. Bob was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers. Funeral services and burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
