Robert was born on November 2, 1933, in Philipsburg, a son of the late John and Pauline (Lucas) Belko.
He was a 1951 graduate of the former Philipsburg High School. Following high school, Robert served with the US Army from 1951 -1953 and was a veteran of the Korean War.

Early in his working career, he was employed with Belding & Mull in their sales and service departments. He was then employed as an Equipment Operator with PennDOT for the remainder of his working career until his retirement in 1995.

Robert was married on August 6, 1960, in Philipsburg, to the former Barbara J. Houston, who preceded him in death on March 11, 2017.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara A. Mencer; four sisters: Verna E. Walker, Pauline Belko, Mary Shedlock and Marge Lewis; four brothers: John, George, Edward and Andrew Belko; and an infant brother, George; in addition to his parents and his wife.

Robert is survived by three daughters: Kelly J. Foreman and her husband, Tom, of RD Philipsburg, Jean E. Harris and her husband, Jeff, of (North) Philipsburg and Betsy M. Clark of Philipsburg; a son, Michael C. Belko, and his wife, Brenda, of Centre Hall; a sister, Betty Sicks, of Philipsburg; two brothers, William Belko and his wife, Melissa, of Philipsburg and David Belko and his wife, Stephanie, of Sarasota, Florida; eight grandchildren: Hunter Harris, John Clark, Justin Clark, Christopher Belko, Logan Belko, Julie Murray, Meg Monteforte and Tim Mencer; four great-grandchildren; and other extended family members.

Robert was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and a Life Member of the Louis Jenkins VFW Post #3450; both of Philipsburg.

Among his favorite pastimes, Robert loved to spend time tending to his garden. He also enjoyed mushroom hunting and fishing, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his three daughters who cared for him in his golden years. He was a man of many talents and could fix anything. He loved to “tinker”.
