Ronald V. King, 94, of Bellefonte, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Eagle Valley Personal Home Care. Born on November 19, 1930, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Vincent J. and Evelyn (Corman) King. On January 4, 1951, he married the love of his life, Lois H. (Boob) King, who preceded him in death on February 9, 2019, after sharing 68 years of marriage together.

Ronald was a graduate of Bellefonte High School. After school, he proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army from January 1951 until he was honorably discharged in May 1952. Upon returning home, he worked for Domtar and Conlime until he retired as a foreman.

He is survived by his granddaughter, Jackie Golas, and her husband, Ryan, and a great granddaughter, Reigan Golas, all of Bellefonte.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his son, Charles R. King, and two sisters, Pat McMurtrie and Nancy Shultz.

Ronald was a member of the Greater Buffalo Run Valley United Methodist Church in Bellefonte. Additionally, he was a long-time member of the Sunrise Hunting Camp. He enjoyed being outdoors, whether he was hunting or fishing, or tending to his lawn and garden, you could usually find him outside. Even well into his 90s, he took great pride in mowing his lawn and tending to his tomato plants! Ronald also realized that he enjoyed cooking. After his wife was unable to cook anymore, he didn’t think twice before taking over the responsibility of preparing Sunday Family Dinners and holiday meals! Ronald was a family man first and foremost. He looked forward to the family trips to Stone Harbor, New Jersey over the years and the two monumental trips he took with his wife to Hawaii. Later in life, he became a devoted caregiver to Lois and his son, Charles. He treasured the time that he spent with his family, and especially loved spending time with his great granddaughter, Reigan.

A public viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, at the Great Buffalo Run Valley United Methodist Church, 102 Trinity Court, Bellefonte. Funeral services will begin at noon, at the church, with Pastor James Jacobs officiating. Burial services with full military honors will immediately follow at Meyer Cemetery in Bellefonte. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
