It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Ryan Thomas Menges on March 18, 2025. Born on November 9, 1990, Ryan was a beloved son, fiancé, father, and friend who touched the lives of many.
Ryan is survived by his fiancée, Megan Stoner of Spring Mills, his daughter, Taylie Stoner of Spring Mills, and his best friend and beloved dog, Cleo, who was always by his side, sharing countless adventures together. Ryan leaves behind his mother, Patti Harpster, and her fiancé, Bob Holderman, of Bellefonte, his father, Tom Menges, and stepmother, Stephanie, of Bellefonte; his four brothers: Tyler Menges and his fiancé, Veronica Shaw of Milroy, , Zach Kosman of Bellefonte, Chase Kosman of Bellefonte, and Conner Kosman of Bellefonte, and one sister, Tabatha Falls and her fiancé, Chad Kuntz, of Lock Haven. . He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Janet Lucas of Mt. Eagle, paternal grandparents, Robert and Barbara Menges of Allentown, Megan’s parents, David and Chintana Suter of Smullton, and numerous, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who will miss him dearly.
Ryan was preceded in death by his son Declan Ryan, Stepfather, Robert Harpster, and maternal grandfather, Ralph E. Lucas, I.
Ryan graduated from Bellefonte Area High School in 2009 and began his career in the food industry at the Penn Stater before moving to East Food District at Findlay Commons. He was an integral part of his team and will be dearly missed by his colleagues. His coworkers were like family to Ryan. During his time at Penn State, Ryan took a break to serve his country as a United States Marine, earning the rank of Lance Corporal with the Reserve Unit.
Ryan had a passion for fast cars and enjoyed attending car shows, often spontaneously deciding to go to any he knew about. His pride and joy was spending time with his daughter, Taylie, engaging in fun and challenging activities like trying the hottest gummy bear. Ryan and Cleo were inseparable, exploring the world together.
Ryan had a passion for baseball, playing from the age of 4 until he was 16. During his elementary and middle school years, he also enjoyed playing basketball. He cherished watching his favorite football teams, the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Philadelphia Eagles, alongside the love of his life, Megan. Additionally, Ryan had a fondness for fishing. Ryan’s favorite place to travel to was to the beach.
He also loved creating and competing in cook-offs with his family, sharing his culinary creations with everyone. His dishes were so popular that friends and family would often say, “Can I have some? I’ll be right over.”
Ryan will be missed by everyone whose lives he touched. Once you became his friend, you were friends for life. He was a remarkable man who left this world far too soon Ryan, you will never be forgotten but live in our hearts and our precious, cherished memories. This is not Goodbye, but till we meet again. You are loved beyond measure.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 10-11am followed by a funeral service at 11am at the Freedom Life Church, 113 Sunset Acres, Bellefonte with Pastor Josh Simonetti officiating.
