Shirley (Brown) Neely Minier, 93, of Bellefonte, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Centre Care Rehabilitation and Wellness Center. Born on November 12, 1930, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Anna (Felmlee) Brown.
Shirley was a 1948 graduate of Bellefonte High School and graduated from the Hahnemann Medical College School of Nursing in 1951.
She is survived by three daughters, Margaret Neely Gray (David) of Port Matilda, Pennsylvania, Carolyn Neely Ainslie (Tim) of Seattle, Washington, and Elizabeth Neely Newsome (Jim) of Atlanta, Georgia, six grandchildren: Rebecca Gray (Dan) of Portland, Oregon, Peter Gray (Alicia) of Fairfax, Virginia, Alex Ainslie (Dan) of San Francisco, California, Adam Ainslie of Washington, D.C., John Newsome of Atlanta, Georgia, Kathryn Newsome of Atlanta, Georgia, and three great grandchildren: Evelyn, Owen, and Hannah Gray. Also surviving is a brother, Richard Brown (Bernice) of Zion, Pennsylvania, a sister, Barbara Brown Koons (Jerry) of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, and six nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Raymond W. Neely, in 1973, and her second husband, Samuel Minier in 2002.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte, with Pastor Doug Conway officiating. A graveside service will immediately follow in Centre County Memorial Park in State College.
