Susan A. Dunn, 76, formerly of Bellefonte, and more recently residing with her daughter in Moshannon, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Ridgeview Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Curwensville.
Born on February 28, 1948, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late William M. and Ruth E. (Lyons) Burns. Susan was united in marriage to Anthony Dunn, Sr., with whom she shared over 50 years of love and companionship.
She attended Bald Eagle Area High School. Susan dedicated much of her life to being a homemaker and was a woman of deep faith, belonging to the Protestant tradition.
In her free time, Susan found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed working on puzzles and cherished spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren. A lover of jewelry, she built a collection over the years and had an innate talent for finding beauty in the smallest of things. Her kind-hearted nature extended to animals, as she often opened her home to stray pets in need. Known for her generosity and willingness to help anyone, Susan will be remembered for her compassion and unwavering support of others.
Susan is survived by her devoted husband, Anthony Dunn, Sr.; her daughter, Rebecca J. Parks, and her husband, Stephen, of Moshannon; and two beloved grandchildren: Kiana Parks and her fiancé, Jacob Gates, and Harley Parks. She is also survived by one brother, William Burns and his wife, Patsy, of Bellefonte; four sisters: Linda Rhoades and her husband, Rusty, of Howard; Bonnie Pletcher and her husband, Bill, of Bellefonte; Boots Frantz of Tyrone; and Juanita Rhodes and her husband, Ted, of Julian; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who adored her.
She was preceded in death by her son, Anthony Dunn, Jr.; her brother, John Burns; her brother-in-law, Hassell Frantz; and her nephew, Andrew Burns.
In keeping with Susan’s wishes, there will be no formal services. The family requests that those who wish to honor her memory reflect on the love and kindness she shared with all who knew her.
