Susan Joy “Sue” Pearson (Sampson)

Susan Joy “Sue” Pearson, 78, of State College, formerly of Houston, TX, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, February 15, 2021. Born on December 8, 1942 in Detroit, MI, she was the daughter of the late Arthur P. and Sarah C. (Poley) Sampson.

Sue lived a “larger than life” existence, giving whatever she could with her bountiful heart to her family and friends. She was famous for her humor, entertaining of company, love for dancing, and her unparalleled style of dress and residential design. She was a real estate agent in Canada, Florida, and Texas. Sue had a phenomenal way of knowing what a buyer wanted by getting to know them and their individual personalities. Many of her clients became her good friends. Sue had a way of making you believe in yourself and taught you to always reach for the stars. She enjoyed and loved many things in life, but nothing compared to her grandchildren. She loved, cherished, and adored them with all she had.

Sue is survived by her loving daughter and caregiver, Deborah Lynn Pearson, her son, Kevin John Pearson (Lisa Nelson), her amazing and loving grandchildren, Sarah Joy Pearson and Benjamin Franklin Kelly. She is also survived by her sister, Linda C. Troeger, many adored nieces and nephews, and many friends who loved Sue with all their hearts.

Along with her parents, Sue was preceded in death by Sarah’s second husband, Carl, and the love of her life, her husband, Keith Wayne Pearson.

Memorial arrangements will be private. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice in the loving memory of the great legacy that Sue has genuinely left each of us.
