Thomas A. “Tim” Eckenroth, 90, of State College, died August 30, 2024 at Centre Care Rehabilitation and Wellness.
Born February 15, 1934 in Bellefonte, PA, he was the son of the late John A. and Sarah M. (Charles) Eckenroth.
On December 15, 1951 he married Winnie L. Thomas; they remained married until her passing in 2010.
Tim was a US Army Veteran. He worked for Pearce Dairy as a milkman for 32 years until his retirement. He then went to work for Bi-Lo for ten years, retiring for the second time in 1999. Tim was a member of the Mt. Nittany United Methodist Church in State College, PA. He enjoyed bowling, playing golf and working in his yard.
In addition to his parents and his wife of 58 years, Tim was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Gerald Eckenroth; one brother-in-law, Ron Heltman; two sisters-in- law, Norma Eckenroth and Emma Lou Eckenroth and two nieces, Bonnie Struble and Jean Marie Hook Evans. He is survived by one sister, Mary Heltman of Snow Shoe, PA; five nephews, Ralph Hook and his wife, Judy of Rixeyville, VA, Gary Eckenroth of Centre Hall, PA, Scott Eckenroth and his wife, Cindy of St. Marys, PA, Rich Eckenroth and his wife, Karen of Treasure Lake, PA and Jackie Shivery and his wife, Sandy of Howard, PA and six nieces, Debra Shook and her husband, Kevin of Bellefonte, PA, Linda Hook of Richmond, VA, Linda Hassinger of Runville, PA, Patty Hipple and her husband, Tom of Snow Shoe, PA, Amy Cooper of Altoona, PA and Lisa Grove and her husband, Howard, Jr. of Bellefonte, PA. He also leaves behind seven cats which he adored deeply; they will miss him.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 1:00pm at the Haky/Georgiana Centre County Funeral Home, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA 16801 with the Reverend Michael S. Swimley officiating. A private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family at Centre County Memorial Park.
