Thomas E. Ault, 76, of Bellefonte, passed away at home on Saturday, March 22, 2025. He was born on February 16, 1949, in Bellefonte, to the late Harland and Ethel (Hendershot) Ault. On August 11, 1989, he married the love of his life Diane (Pennington) Ault, who survives at home. Tom was a 1966 graduate of Bellefonte Area high school and later received his associate’s degree in Agricultural Business from Penn State Altoona. While helping his dad on the family farm, he spent years driving for Bird Trucking and Gensimore Trucking. In 1972, he purchased the farm from his dad and farmed the remainder of his life, most recently with his son, Jamie. He enjoyed get togethers with his graduating class multiple times a year. His favorite past time was being surrounded by family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid collector of trains and farm toys. He spent many years hunting in Cody, Wyoming with family and friends. Tom was a member of the Pleasant Gap Lions Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, David (Teri) Ault, Jamie (Jennifer) Ault, Joey (Amanda) Ault, all of Bellefonte, and Nichole (Forrest) Rishel of Centre Hall. He was a proud grandfather to Dillon, Jenna, Mason, Matthew, Jackson, Cohen, and Mylah. Also surviving are his two sisters, Barbara Ault of Pleasant Gap, and Marjorie (Ted) Ranio of Oceanside, CA, and brother-in-law, David (Faith) Pennington of Bakersfield, CA, and numerous nieces and nephews. Tom is also survived by his lifelong friend, Joyce Krout, who he cherished.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jim Ault and grandson, Noah Rishel.
There will be a public viewing held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 4pm until 7pm, and Wednesday, March 26, 2025, 10am until 11:00am, at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. Funeral services will begin at 11:00am, on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at the funeral home with Pastor Dave Downer officiating. Burial will follow at Centre County Memorial Park, State College.
