Vioda V. Geyer, 92, of Snow Shoe, PA, formerly of Dennison, OH, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the Wynwood House in Centre Hall, PA. Born on August 14, 1931, in Hall County, NB, she was the daughter of the late Forrest and Elma (Leman) Erb. She was married to Gerald Walk and after his passing, she married Paul Geyer, who also passed away.

Vioda was a 1949 graduate of Sterling Twp. High School in Sterling IL. After moving to Uhrichsville, OH in 1965, she worked as a Deputy Auditor for City Auditor Helen Dempster, and she also served as Clerk to Mayor Bob Croniser. She worked in the Personnel Office at Simonds Cutting Tools in Newcomerstown, owned and operated the Clay Chlet Ceramic Shop in Uhrichsville and worked at McKeever Decorating in Dover until her retirement in 1993.

She was a member of the Frist Presbyterian Church in Uhrichsville where she had served as a Deacon, Elder, and Clerk of Session for 13 years. She enjoyed sewing and was a part of the Prayers and Squares Ministry since its inception in 2005. She also served as Moderator of Presbyterian Women for several years.

Vioda enjoyed flower gardening, oil painting, building bird houses, landscaping, interior decorating, attracting birds, especially humming birds. She loved working in her yard. She would say, “You feel very close to God when you are working in a garden”. She was also a member of the Sorosis Club.

Vioda is survived by her children: Larry Walk and his wife, Jayn, of Freeport, OH, Tim Walk of Tippecano, OH, Brad Walk and his wife, Tammy, of Orrville, OH, and Jennifer Walk and her companion, Torey Bowling, of Snow Shoe, PA. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Erin DePriest, Lindsey Gibbs, Stacey Woods, Justin Walk, Cody Walk, Joleen Bowling, Katie Polilli, and Sydnee Shamel; 14 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and both husbands, Vioda was preceded in death by her son, Kris A. Walk, her daughter, Julie M. Walk, and all her siblings: John Erb, Arly Erb, Dean Erb, Shiley Erb, Peg Driscoll, Donna Haas, and Ina Sutton. Vioda was the last of her generation.

Following Vioda’s wishes, there will be no services.
