Wava A. Crossan, formerly of Spring Mills, passed away August 24, 2025, at Wynwood House in Centre Hall. She was 74. Born April 19, 1951, in Lock Haven, Wava was a daughter of the late Russell Spangler and Mary E. (Glossner) Spangler. On September 14, 1996, she married Randy R. Crossan who preceded her in death on May 16, 2025.
Wava enjoyed swimming, dancing, playing games on the computer and watching hummingbirds; however, her greatest passion was her involvement with the Miles Township Fire Company where she had been a longtime member. She was involved with the fire police and going on ambulance calls. It didn’t matter the time of day or the type of weather, if the fire whistle blew…..Wava was going on the call.
Wava is survived by four daughters, Bobbi Beaton (Ken) of IN, Tina Folk (John) of Oxford, Dawn Sibert and Tammy Price (Tom) both of West Grove; four sons, Robert Spicher (Valerie) of RI, David Spicher of PA, Richard Spicher (Cassandra) of Lewisburg and William Spicher (Lindsey) of Spring Mills with whom Wava had resided. Also surviving are seventeen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Wava was preceded in death by two brothers, Blaine Geise and Harold “Buck” Geise.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim. The funeral service will follow immediately with Pastor Chris Korn officiating. Wava will be laid to rest in Fairview West Cemetery in Millheim. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be given to Miles Township Fire Company, POB 155, Rebersburg PA 16872.
