William “Bill” N. Pletcher, Jr. age 78 of Bellefonte, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA.

He was born October 12, 1946, in Lock Haven, PA to the late William N. Pletcher, Sr and Velma Rae (Holter) Pletcher.

William was a 1964 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School.  He is a veteran of the US Army having served during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a mail carrier for the US Postal Service until his retirement in 2014.  William’s memberships included, NRA, FOP State College and the Moose Post 206, Bellefonte.

William was a loving and kind man who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.  In the past, he coached little league and enjoyed going to his grandchildren’s baseball and softball games.  He also enjoyed bowling and participated in a bowling league.  

Surviving is his wife of 56 ½ years, Bonnie J. (Burns) Pletcher, two daughters: Melissa Noll and her husband William of Bellefonte; Jennifer Kinley and her husband Scott of Bellefonte; six grandchildren: Erika Quick, Kyle Kinley, Jacob Noll, Miranda Noll, Kaleigh Kinley and Chloe Kinley; one great granddaughter: Dynaries Quick; and one brother: Malcolm Pletcher of Georgia.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister: Gary Pletcher and Janice Johnson; one nephew: Davey Tuttle.

There will be no public viewing.

Family and friends are invited to a Graveside service at Centre County Memorial Gardens, 1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Jeff Trawinski officiating.  Veteran Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #245, State College.

The family would also like to thank the staff from Independent Home Health and the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville for taking care of William.
