As you may have noticed, Penn State doesn’t play this weekend. So if you’re looking for different games to watch we’ve got your covered with six that might be worth your time. Then again it’s college football season, so something fun is happening no matter where you look.

No. 4 Michigan at Indiana: (Noon, FOX)

If you wanted to take the time to get aquatinted with Penn State’s next opponent a Michigan road trip to Indiana is a good way to start that. The Hoosiers – as per usual – pass the ball a ton, the most in the nation in attempts per game. The Wolverines aren’t quite as sexy but impossible to kill for most teams. Indiana is a sneaky tough place to play for some teams but there’s no reason to think Michigan is going to get upset here even if we’re about due for some Michigan Drama.

No. 8 Tennessee at No. 25 LSU: (Noon, ESPN)

Tennessee is fun, LSU is slightly less fun but maybe that’s just because nobody really likes Brian Kelly all that much. That being said ranked meetings in the SEC are always fun to take in and LSU is never a fun place to play. This the time of year you start to find out who really should be in the Top 10 and Tennessee will get a chance to prove that on Saturday.

No. 17 TCU at No. 19 Kansas: (Noon, FS1)

The Jayhawks are the darlings of college football this season and what maybe have seemed like a forgettable meeting most years has turned into one of the marquee games of the season. TCU put up 55 points last week and hasn’t scored less than 38 in a game al year so don’t expect a ton of defense in this one. Then again if Kansas is for real slowing down the Horned Frogs would be a good way to make that statement. TCU is in the middle of playing four ranked teams all in a row. Heck of schedule there.

Auburn at No. 2 Georgia: (3:30, CBS)

Auburn has been hilariously dramatic this year and while it has a borderline impossible schedule doing nothing but playing ranked teams on the road the rest of the season, Saturday could be the end of the Brian Harsin era(?). In any case after two weeks of oddly human performances for Georgia, Saturday also has a slightly strange pang of upset alert. This means Auburn will lose by 40 because it can’t pass the ball but for a few fleeting moments you might be convinced of something special. In any case watching discombobulated teams play really good teams is always fun if you don’t have a rooting interest.

Purdue at Maryland: (Noon, BTN)

Two teams that like to throw the ball and two good quarterbacks. This could be fun. It’s not sexy but Maryland might sorta kinda be for real and Purdue might also be not all that bad. Taulia Tagovailoa will get his shot with Maryland against Penn State down the road and this is a good reintroduction for the 4-1 Terps going up against a Big Ten West foe.

Iowa at Illinois: (7:30, BTN)

Iowa has been so bad on offense that you have to watch it. Illinois is 4-1 (!!!) and maybe good (!!??) so this should be a sneaky game on the schedule if you’re looking for something a bit off the beaten path. If it stinks just switch over the South Carolina and Kentucky.
