Driver Taken to Hospital After School Bus Crash Near Philipsburg

A driver was taken to the hospital for minor injuries after crashing a school bus Monday morning near Philipsburg.

No children were on board at the time of the single-vehicle crash, which happened at about 7:10 a.m. on the 2000 block of Black Moshannon Road/Route 504 in Rush Township, according to Hope Fire Company.

The bus struck several trees before overturning on the side of the road just east of Philipsburg Elementary School, according to the fire company. Moshannon Valley EMS transported the driver to the hospital after evaluation.

State police at Rockview are investigating the crash.

PennDOT responded for traffic control as crews worked to remove the bus on Monday morning.
