Downtown State College community arts space 3 Dots is getting set to host monthly flea markets and entertainment in a block party atmosphere.
A new form of the venue’s weekly Tuesdays on the Terrace community events, the flea markets, dubbed Pugh Street Shutdowns, will be held from 5 to 8 p.m.on the last Tuesday of each month through September on the 100 block of South Pugh Street. The road will be closed to vehicle traffic from East Beaver Avenue to the parking garage entrance during the event.
Each month will have a unique theme, kicking off this week with a continuation of State College’s Pride Month celebration.
This week’s event will feature performances local band Canary, DJ Elbow Knee Knee and Opulence, Penn State’s drag ambassador club.
The flea market will have artisans and crafters, community organizations, food vendors — this week including Brazilian Munchies, Classic Cones and Inside Out Cookies — and a beer garden featuring Voodoo Brewery.
“3 Dots is thrilled to announce our Pugh St. Shutdown series,” 3 Dots’ Assistant Director Justin Dorsey said in a statement. “Every last Tuesday, June through September, we’ll be shutting down the street to bring the party to downtown State College. Along with our normal open mic and featured performers, we’ll be bringing a cavalcade of artists, artisans and purveyors of good times.”
Future dates for the Pugh Street Shutdowns are dates are July 26, Aug. 30, and Sept. 27.
