A 66-year-old man was struck by a vehicle and killed on East Park Avenue last night. The man, who was crossing the street when the car hit him, was transported to Mt. Nittany Medical Center and later pronounced dead.

PETA awarded its Compassionate Fire Department Award to the Alpha Fire Company for its rescue of Skye. The rescue featured a team of people using ropes and a makeshift pulley to haul Skye out of the 15 foot sinkhole.
