STATE COLLEGE — From mysterious fortune tellers and tattooed ladies, to sad clowns and sideshow freaks, Lady Grey’s Lovelies are taking audiences to the circus at the upcoming cabaret. On April 27, join Lady Grey and friends in The Attic of The State Theatre for The Greyest Show on Earth. Show times are 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.
The Lovelies are ending their successful 2018-2019 season with a bang. The circus-themed cabaret features a packed lineup of burlesque, tap and acro dance, flow arts, live music, magic and more. Inspired by award-winning musical “The Greatest Showman,” The Greyest Show on Earth adds a noir twist for a night of unforgettable performances that are sure to leave audiences laughing, gasping and cheering for more.
Highlights include a jaw-dropping performance by Ringmistress Lady Grey (State College), enchanting vocals by resident diva Dalila Night (Philadelphia) and a farewell to local favorite Dippin Dot (Philadelphia). Audience members are invited to dress in circus, steampunk and carnival wear. As many fans know, anything goes at a Lady Grey’s Lovelies show.
“I love these Lovelies,” said local audience member Nicole Shawley. “(They are) inclusive, diverse and full of love. You can’t help but fall for these Lovelies after just one show. I felt so empowered, confident and beautiful after seeing them perform.”
The Greyest Show on Earth is restricted to patrons 18 and older, due to mature content. Those interested in attending are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets in advance, as the cabaret is likely to sell out. Tickets can be purchased online at thestatetheatre.org or at The State Theatre box office from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. To order tickets via phone call (814) 272-0606, ext. 301.
