Penn State averaged six runs per game in their three-game series sweep over the Maryland Terrapins April 15 through April 17.

On April 6, Penn State men’s baseball destroyed Lafayette College, 20-12, in a slugfest non-conference road game at Kamine Stadium. The win extended the Nittany Lions’ season-high winning streak to eight.

Penn State baseball completed a three-game series sweep of the Purdue Boilermakers April 1 and 2 in their first Big Ten Conference series of the season.

The Penn State softball team completed a three-game series sweep of the Rutgers Scarlet Knights March 25 to March 27 in a conference showdown in Piscataway, N.J. Penn State won game one 12-8, won game two 4-1 in nine innings and won game three 12-1 in five innings.

Penn State men’s baseball team hosted the Niagara Purple Eagles during its home season-opening series March 18 and 19 at Medlar Field. The Nittany Lions lost the first game of the three-game series, 4-3.

On March 3, Penn State lost to the Northwestern Wildcats at the Bryce Jordan Center. It was the second consecutive loss for the Nittany Lions, who have won two of their last three home games, against Iowa and Nebraska on Feb. 17 and Feb. 25, respectively.

On Feb. 25, Penn State narrowly escaped with a nail-biting 56-55 victory over the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Penn State notched its second consecutive win at home and the Nittany Lions improved to 10-3 inside the Bryce Jordan Center.

On Feb. 17, the Penn State women’s basketball team crushed the Northwestern Wildcats, 73-54. Five Lady Lions reached double figures in their 19-point victory over the Wildcats. Penn State (10-16) cruised to their 10th victory on the season.

On Feb. 17, the Penn State Nittany Lions completed an upset and stunned the No. 4 Iowa Hawkeyes at the Bryce Jordan Center, knocking them off, 79-75.

On Feb. 13, the Penn State Nittany Lions took their talents to Lincoln, Nebraska and lost to the Nebraska Cornhuskers on the road at Pinnacle Bank Arena, 70-54.
