A portion of the Bellefonte area is under a boil water advisory following a water main break.
Bellefonte Borough issued the advisory for customers in Spring and Benner townships served by the Corning waterline. The line runs along Route 150 and the Benner Pike, from the Belle Aire Hills and Amberleigh areas to the Rockview state prison property.
“Water should be boiled for at least one minute before use,” the advisory stated. “You should boil the water for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth and food preparation until further notice.”
The advisory is in effect until further notice.
The break happened at about 2 a.m. on Tuesday along Willowbank Street and crews have since been working to repair it.
