Update May 7, 2026: The boil water notice was lifted on Thursday, May 7, according to Bellefonte Borough.

Original story

A section of Bellefonte is under a boil water notice due to a water main relocation, according to an advisory from the borough on Monday.

The notice is in effect for 1020-1032 Airport Road, Ville du Parc Townhomes and Governor’s Gate Apartments.

While in place, affected residents should boil water for at least one minute before using for drinking, cooking, food preparation or brushing teeth, according to the notice.

“Water quality testing is currently underway,” the borough wrote. “Customers will be notified as soon as the boil water advisory is lifted.”

The water main relocation is part of ongoing road realignment work at Airport Road and Governor’s Park Road.
