A national bank is celebrating the opening of its first State College area location.
Chase Bank will hold a ribbon cutting event starting at 10 a.m. Thursday for its new branch at 1300 N. Atherton St., in the Northland Center. The event will include Chase and Chamber of Business and Industry of Centre County representatives, and State College Mayor Ezra Nanes.
The location in the Northland Center, which is now open, has eight employees and casual meeting rooms, “emphasizing a more consultative approach, with personal banking, credit cards, mortgages, auto financing, investment advice, small business loans and payment processing,” according to the company.
It also has teller services, while self-service features include a digital access bar, indoor ATM, outdoor 24-hour ATM and night depository.
“Visitors will discover the branch looks and feels different from a ‘typical’ bank – combining a modern design, layout and state-of-the-art banking technology, reflecting how customers engage with Chase today,” a spokesperson wrote.
The location has been home to several banks but had been long-vacant before Chase began renovations on the building last year.
Chase Northland Center’s branch hours and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
The State College area location is part of JPMorganChase’s multibillion-dollar plan to expand and modernize its branch network in 2026 with the opening of 160 new branches in more than 30 states and renovation of nearly 600 existing locations, according to a Feb. 18 news release.
