Chew Chew Bun Asian Bakery is moving from the Nittany Mall to the heart of downtown State College
The bakery is relocating to 115 E. Beaver Ave. — the former home of Crust & Crumb — and plans to open by the end of August, according to previous information on its website.
It had been located in the Nittany Mall since 2021 but recently closed up shop there to make the move downtown.
Chew Chew Bun has been serving up Taiwanese-inspired authentic pastries in State College since April 2019. It’s best known for its Portuguese egg tart and other goods like milk toast, crispy ham and cheese, and sweet taro.
If you want to try the new place in town out, you can order ahead and check out the menu on its website once it fully opens. It will also offer canned products like milk tea and cold brew from Rothrock Coffee.
Chew Chew Bun will join Oeuf Boeuf et Bacon, The Squirrel And Acorn Bookshop, Way Fruit Farm, Mezeh Mediterranean Grill, and Planet Fitness as businesses set to open downtown in the near future.
