A new cheesesteak shop that promises a taste of Philly in downtown State College has set an opening date.
Campus Steaks plans to hold a grand opening on Aug. 28 at 119 S. Pugh St., according to a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page. A sign in the window lists Aug. 21 as the grand opening, but the post called that date a “typo.”
The South Pugh Street storefront was previously home to Bradley Cheesesteaks & Hoagies, which closed its downtown shop in September.
Campus Steaks’ menu will include Philly cheesesteaks, chicken steaks, fries, onion rings and homemade chips. The restaurant’s owners said in December that they plan to source ingredients like rolls and beef from the Philadelphia area.
Hours listed on the door are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Wednesday (closed Tuesday), 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
