Happy Valley Casino Names New General Manager

Happy Valley Casino has a new executive to lead its operations.

Peter Longi has been named the new general manager of the category 4 casino at the Nittany Mall, according to a press release on Monday. Longi has more than 30 years of experience in casino operations, most recently as assistant general manager at Sahara Las Vegas.

“I’m proud to join Happy Valley Casino at such an important time for the property,” Longi said in a statement. “I look forward to working with the team to drive operational excellence, enhance the guest experience, and position the casino for continued success.”

He replaces Eric Pearson, who helped to guide the casino’s development from its inception and led its operations through its first month before departing in June. Owner Saratoga Casino Holdings described his departure as a planned transition.

As general manager, Longi will oversee Happy Valley Casino’s operations while providing overall leadership and strategic direction.

According to the casino, he has a background in “slots, table games, and player development across a variety of regional and destination market,” and his experience includes “an emphasis on team accountability and long-term, sustainable results.”

“With a strong operational background, Longi has consistently driven performance through strategic floor optimization, disciplined operations, and a focus on enhancing the overall guest experience,” according to the release.

Happy Valley Casino opened in late April with 600 slot machines, 30 table games, a full-service restaurant, bar and quick-serve food and beverage outlet.

In its first full month of operations in May, the casino had $3.6 million in revenue, the lowest among Pennsylvania’s four category 4 mini-casinos, according to a financial report from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. Revenue dropped by about 33% to $2.41 million in June.

July revenue figures will be reported in mid-August.
