A franchise specializing in bubble tea and fresh fruit drinks is planning to open in downtown State College.
Mr. Wish will take over the former Metro clothing store location at 320 E. College Ave., according to signage recently placed on the storefront.
Metro closed in 2020 after 35 years in business.
Originating in Taiwan in 2006, Mr. Wish expanded to the U.S. and has locations in nine states. In Pennsylvania, there are 15 current locations, all in the Philadelphia area where the company’s U.S. operations are headquartered.
The business offers fruit, diced fruit, milk and brewed tea, as well as smoothies and drinks made with fresh fruit and sparkling water.
An opening date was not available and the company did not respond to a request for comment.
Renovations at the College Avenue location are underway.
