Penkala Named CBICC Programs and Events Coordinator

The Chamber of Business & Industry of Centre County has named Tom Penkala as programs and events coordinator.

Penkala, a longtime Penn State employee and hospitality veteran, will play a key role in coordinating and administering the chamber’s programs and events, including signature events such as its annual golf outing, leadership symposium and annual celebration. He also will assist in planning and producing the Voice of Business Luncheon series.

“Tom is a seasoned event planner and meeting coordinator and he brings a wealth of hospitality expertise and experience to the Chamber’s efforts to grow and enhance membership,” Greg Scott, president and CEO of the Chamber said in a news release.

Prior to joining the chamber, Penkala spent 30 years working in Housing and Food Services, Donor Relations and Special Events for Penn State. He most recently served as an associate director for the Board of Trustees in the Office of the President.

“As a longtime Centre County resident, I look forward to supporting the work of the chamber and its member businesses and organizations,” Penkala said.

Penkala holds a bachelor’s degree in food Service and hotel administration from Penn State.

He resides in State College with his wife, Kate.
