Sher Halal Barbecue and Grill is gearing up to open a downtown State College storefront at 145 S. Allen St. in the former location of Woodring’s Floral Gardens, according to an employee.
Sher Halal operates the halal cart on 137 E. Beaver Ave. behind 3 Dots. The opening of the restaurant will seemingly be in addition to the cart.
An anticipated opening date is unclear, according to an employee.
Woodring’s Floral Garden’s downtown location closed in May 2022 to consolidate with its Bellefonte location after 46 years in the building.
At its cart location, Sher Halal serves rice platters with chicken, lamb, shrimp and fish, along with falafel, gyros, chicken wings, cheesecake and more. Its offerings and hours on South Allen Street have not yet been announced.
