A State College area liquor store will move a short distance to a new location early next year.
The state-owned Fine Wine & Good Spirits store at 127 Southridge Plaza, State College, will relocate to 2127 S. Atherton St., next to Giant supermarket in the Hills Plaza, in the first quarter of 2027, Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board spokesperson Shawn Kelly told StateCollege.com.
The PLCB approved the new lease during a meeting earlier this year.
It marks a return to the Hills Plaza for the store, which previously operated at 2051 S. Atherton St., where Mount Nittany Health ExpressCARE is now located, until moving to the nearby Southridge Plaza in August 2016.
“We want to give the people of Centre County a new store and an updated shopping experience,” Kelly said. “We look for opportunities to be in shopping centers where customers go for other products and services. We also look at things like the availability of parking, access for our delivery vehicles and overall area demographics and demographic trends.”
The new space, which is currently unoccupied and now has new signage for the liquor store, is more than 11,700 total square feet. The current store is about 10,000 total square feet with 6,750 square feet of retail space, according to county records and a 2016 press release about the move to Southridge Plaza.
No staffing changes are anticipated with the move across the street, Kelly said. The Southridge Plaza store remains open until the move.

It will be the second time in less than two years that the PLCB relocates one of its Centre Region retail stores.
Fine Wine & Good Spirits moved from its longtime location at 1682 N. Atherton St. in the Village Square plaza to the former Rite-Aid building at 1536 N. Atherton St. in August 2025.
Centre County has six Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores — four in the State College area, one in Bellefonte and one in Snow Shoe.
