Fall Fest Returns to Downtown State College for 23rd Year

As the leaves change and temperatures grow cooler, downtown State College will once again celebrate fall with a day of family fun.

Downtown State College Improvement District’s 23rd annual Fall Fest will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday on the 200 block of South Allen Street. As in years past, the Centre County Youth Service Bureau is a key partner in the event, organizing over more than a dozen free kids activities provided by local nonprofit organizations.

Activities will include, face painting, a fun house, a photo station and more. Nittany Balloons will create customized balloon animals and Monster D will offer tailor-made drawings. Free pumpkins, provided by Martin’s Garden Center, will be available to children, with a pumpkin decorating activity sponsored by Growing Tree Toys.

Tempest Productions also will offer pop-up theatre performances at the Bill Welch Plaza in front of the State College Municipal Building.

Food vendors are slated to include Dulce Luca, Farmstead Fusion and Bonnie Blues BBQ.

Adding to the fun downtown on Saturday, Pop Up Ave, the curated urban flea market, returns with makers and vintage vendors, food and music from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the 100 block of South Fraser Street.

“We’re excited for families to embrace the fall season with us and enjoy a fun-filled day in Downtown State College,” DSCID Executive Director Lee Anne Jeffries said in a statement.
