Peter Haglich, a resident of Juniper Village at Brookline in State College, celebrated his 102nd birthday on Monday, March 9, surrounded by friends and associates at the senior living community.
One of eight children in his family, Haglich was was born in 1924 on the Croatian island of Lošinj. He later attended the Nautical Institute and went on to serve as a Naval officer
Asked the secret to his longevity, Haglich kept it simple: “Just get out of bed every morning happy.”
Haglich says his greatest accomplishment is having many friends, something with which his fellow residents and team members at Juniper Village agreed.
“His warmth, stories and outlook on life make him a treasured member of the community,” according to Juniper Village.
