Community members filled South Allen Street and the Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza to celebrate the start of the holiday season Thursday night in downtown State College.

The Downtown State College Improvement District’s fourth annual Light Up Night featured family activities, trolley rides, food and hot drinks, performances, the debut of this year’s synchronized light show in the plaza, live reindeer, a visit from Santa and, of course, the lighting of the tree at the Allen Street Gates.
