It was a beautiful night for a block party on Allen Street.
The annual LION (Living In One Community) Bash hosted by State College and Penn State on Thursday evening allowed members of the community the chance to enjoy the late-summer evening with a variety of booths, photo ops and treats. The event combined the vibes of a neighborhood block party with an engagement fair that encourages students and residents to get involved with local organizations.
Onward State’s photographers were up and down South Allen Street to capture all the fun from throughout the evening.
There were a variety of activities for people to engage with and even win some prizes.
Those at the block party also had the opportunity to get some free treats like flowers, cupcakes and balloon animals.

There were also many characters for people to take photos with. Chewbacca was definitely a fan favorite.

More than 150 community organizations were on hand to share what they are all about and ways to get involved. A variety of food vendors also gave those at the event plenty of options to eat and drink.

Several musical guests serenaded those wandering the streets.

Some rain couldn’t stop the community from coming out and enjoying the summer evening.
