St. Mark Lutheran Church, 850 Snydertown Road, Howard, will hold a Blessing of Pets and Animals at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2.
The service will be held under the church pavilion, and also will include remembering pets who have passed away. The church also will be taking donations for Centre County PAWS.
The service is held in early October each year, around the time the church remembers Francis of Assisi, who had a spirit of gratitude for all of creation, including pets and animals.
All are invited to bring their pets or a photo of their pets to the service to receive a blessing. All dogs should be on leashes.
