Centre County Adds 3 COVID-19 Cases; Pennsylvania Reports 221 New Positives

Centre County reported three new COVID-19 cases on Thursday to bring its total to 16,910. It was the first time in five days the county had a new case.

Pennsylvania added 221 positives, bringing the statewide total to 1,211,041.

The county reported 57 additional negative test results, bringing its total to 70,686. Statewide, there were 5,886 new negatives for a total of 4,736,387.

According to the DOH hospital preparedness dashboard, six COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in Centre County — unchanged from Wednesday — with two in intensive care and two on ventilators [+1].

Pennsylvania has 380 COVID-19 inpatients, a decrease of 14 since Wednesday, with 75 in intensive care [-12] and 70 on ventilators [+2].

DOH reported no new deaths attributed to the virus among Centre County residents, keeping the total at 226.

With 15 new COVID-19 deaths reported statewide, Pennsylvania’s total is now 27,627.

An estimated 97% of COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered, according to a health department calculation.

As of Thursday morning, 75,359 people in Centre County are fully vaccinated and 10,611 are partially covered.

Vaccination appointments for ages 12 and older are available through Centre Volunteers in Medicine, Mount Nittany Health and through other pharmacies and providers listed at vaccines.gov.
