Centre County reported no new COVID-19 cases for a fourth consecutive day on Wednesday, keeping its total at 16,907, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
The last time the county went four straight days without a new positive was June 2-5, 2020.
Pennsylvania added 174 cases — its fifth straight day with fewer than 200 — to bring the statewide total to 1,210,820.
The county reported 57 additional negative test results, bringing its total to 70,629. Statewide, there were 5,390 new negatives for a total of 4,730,501.
According to the DOH hospital preparedness dashboard, six COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in Centre County — two fewer than on Tuesday — with two in intensive care and one on a ventilator.
Pennsylvania has 394 COVID-19 inpatients, a decrease of three since Tuesday, with 87 in intensive care [-4] and 68 on ventilators [+2].
DOH reported no new deaths attributed to the virus among Centre County residents, keeping the total at 226.
With eight new COVID-19 deaths reported statewide, Pennsylvania’s total is now 27,612.
An estimated 97% of COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered, according to a health department calculation.
As of Wednesday morning, 75,130 people in Centre County are fully vaccinated and 10,734 are partially covered.
Vaccination appointments for ages 12 and older are available through Centre Volunteers in Medicine, Mount Nittany Health and through other pharmacies and providers listed at vaccines.gov.
