2025 Election Results: Centre County School Boards

Positions on all five Centre County school boards were on ballots for Tuesday’s general election, though only two saw competitive races.

State College, Bald Eagle, Bellefonte, Penns Valley and Philipsburg-Osceola area school districts each had four board seats up for election this year. For Philipsburg-Osceola, two of the seats are in Centre County and two in Clearfield County. No candidate ran in the primary or received a write-in nomination for P-O’s two Centre County seats, and another two-year interim position did not appear on the ballot after the district failed to provide proper notice to the county elections office.

Among the five school boards, only State College and Penns Valley had races with more candidates than open positions.

For the State College Area board, Democratic incumbents Deborah Anderson, Jackie Huff and Jesse Barlow (who was appointed to fill a vacancy earlier this year) are on track to retain their seats, joined by newcomer and fellow Democrat Rebecca Arnold Desmarais. Democrat Jennifer Black was unopposed for a two-year interim position.

In Penns Valley, Daniel Decker and Douglas Roth led Kendyl Wittenrich Paolini for the two at-large seats up for election, while Jessica Shawver led Amber May for one Region 3 seat.
