Mount Nittany Health Opens Expanded Dermatology Practice

Mount Nittany Health has expanded its dermatology services with a new, larger location designed to improve access to care.

The new dermatology practice opened on Aug. 31 in a 7,296-square-foot facility at 2188 Sandy Drive in Ferguson Township. Mount Nittany Health acquired the property, which was formerly owned by State College Family Medicine, in August 2025 for $2.3 million.

Bringing dermatology services under one roof and expanding the practice aims to meet the needs of the Centre County community, Mount Nittany officials said.

“Access to timely dermatologic care has been a growing need in our region,” Dr. Christopher Yingling, Mount Nittany Health urologist and medical director of surgical services, said in a statement. “It’s not uncommon to wait 14-16 months for a new patient appointment with dermatology. Our new Sandy Drive location allows us to care for more patients while reducing wait times.”

One of the most significant additions to the dermatology practice with the new location is the introduction of Mohs surgery for the treatment of skin cancer. The surgery previously had not been available through Mount Nittany Health and many patients needed to travel outside of the area or wait extended periods to receive the treatment.

Mohs surgery is considered one of the most effective treatments for certain skin cancers because it removes cancerous tissue with precision while preserving as much healthy tissue as possible, according to the health system.

The Sandy Drive location is home to Mount Nittany Health’s dermatology team, including Matthew Hazey, MD; Lorraine Rosamilia, MD; M. Amanda Jacobs, MD; Dallis Dillon, PA-C; and Amanda Marin, PA-C.

“With additional providers and exam space, Mount Nittany Health is able to offer more appointment availability, including reserved scheduling for acute dermatologic concerns,” according to a news release. “Telemedicine appointments are also available for select follow-up visits, medication management and other care that may not require an in-person visit.”

In addition to Mohs surgery, other services offered by the practice include medical dermatology for children and adults, medical Botox treatment for hyperhidrosis, coordinated care with allergy specialists for complex dermatologic conditions and expanded access to urgent dermatology appointments.
