Mount Nittany Health is bringing a new urgent care location to the State College area.
The health system announced on Tuesday that it plans to open a walk-in clinic in Hills Plaza at 2051 S. Atherton St., between Giant and Ollie’s. The 2,400-square-foot space was formerly occupied by a Fine Wine & Good Spirits store.
Mount Nittany’s lease begins Oct. 1, and the clinic is expected to open in the spring.
Mount Nittany Health providers will staff the location seven days a week, according to a news release. The clinic will be open to anyone, not just Mount Nittany patients, and for same day visits with no appointment needed.
The facility will offer “high-quality, compassionate care for illnesses and infections, as well as services including sports physicals,” according to the release.
“When you or your loved ones are feeling ill, you want to get care right away,” Dr. Christopher Hester, chief medical officer for Mount Nittany Health Physician Group, said in a statement. “Our new location will make it easier for you to receive care for such illnesses as cold and flu, sore throats, ear and sinus infections, sprains and joint pain, and minor injuries, burns and rashes, without needing to schedule an appointment in advance.”
The clinic will be the only facility of its kind on South Atherton Street and “will bring an exceptionally convenient option to those in Boalsburg, Lemont, Tussey, and the surrounding areas,” according to Mount Nittany.
